Table Mountain is Cape Town's most famous landmarks. Being one of the city's greatest attractions, there are over 100 scenic ways to climb it. The mountain stands at 1086 meters above sea level, but if climbing is not something you enjoy you can always take the revolving cable car which whisks you to the top in a just a few minutes. The views are magnificent in all directions and the feeling of being on top of the world is what makes this such a popular destination.
Cape Point is
the most southwesterly point of Africa.You will get to breathe the freshest air in the world – straight from the Antarctic. It is one of the highest sea cliffs in the world – 249 m above sea level. this is where the cold Beguela current on the West coast and the warm Agulhus current on the East coast merge. There are 26 recorded shipwrecks, at least 250 species of bird, approximately 1 100 indigenous plant species, a large variety of buck, baboons and other animals, and much more...
Chapman's Peak Drive is one of the most spectacular coastal roads in South Africa and all the world. It begins at the picturesque fishing harbor of Hout Bay and then winds up to Chapman's Point, revealing breathtaking views of the sandy bays down below, until the road reaches Noordhoek at sea level again.
Whale Watching is another spectacular asset to the South African coast line. From July to December whales can be seen at the shores. Holiday makers who have been in the Kruger National Park and are visiting the Western Cape, will be able to see one of natures largest mammals. There are estimated to be approximately 3 000 -4 000 southern right whales at present, with South Africa receiving the major percentage visiting its coasts annually.
Two Oceans Aquarium is located in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The east side of the building is adjacent to the Robinson Dry Dock, the oldest operating dock of its kind in the world. Here you will be able to get close up and intimate, swimming freely alongside ragged-tooth sharks, spotted gullies, turtles and rays. Come face to face with a multitude of fishes.The Aquarium offers a unique and exciting opportunity to all qualified scuba divers to dive in the Aquarium’s two main exhibits, the I&J Predator Exhibit and the Kelp Forest.

and is one of Africa's leading teaching and research institutions.
Rhodes memorial above the University of Cape Town (UCT) offers a splendid view of the city. It was built with granite extracted from Table Mountain and reflects the obsession of this power-hungry politician.
The V&A Waterfront boasts over 400 stores and 45 different restaurants and bars, an arts and crafts centre, the IMAX cinema, an internationally renowned aquarium, a children's science exploratorium and a museum. With all this and more, the Waterfront offers much for all budgets and tastes.
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
Newlands Stadium, located in the beautiful city of Cape Town, has regularly proven itself as a major sporting venue in South Africa.Newlands hosted the opening match of the 1995 Rugby World Cup between South Africa and Australia where the crowd got the ball rolling with chants of “Nelson, Nelson, Nelson…”, in honour of their new president and in celebration of South Africa's freedom. South Africa went on to win the Rugby World Cup, the first they had ever hosted.
Newlands Forest is lush and green. As it lies on the windward side of Table mountain, it receives substantial rain. There are many beautiful streams and trails to walk. A wide variety of bird life can be seen including many species of buck.

The environment surrounding the convention center is truly cosmopolitan, with the nearby sea and harbour.

It is one of the major live theatre venues in Cape Town and has always been at the forefront of the performing arts both as a popular venue and as a leading producer.
Groote Schuur Hospital was placed centre stage in the world's spotlight when Professor Christiaan Barnard performed the first human heart transplant on the third of December 1967. Sadly, Mr Louis Washkansky (pictured above) only lived for 18 days, succumbing in the end to pneumonia. His new heart beat strongly to the end.
The Groote Schuur Estate is an area of rich cultural heritage, situated in the Northern section of the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP), on the eastern slopes of Devil’s Peak and Mowbray Ridge.
